EUKOJUST supports the strengthening of the Ministry of Justice departments

The workshop “Strengthening the MoJ Departments,” organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice on Thursday, 18 April 2024, was focused on enhancing the capacities of various departments within the Ministry of Justice.

The workshop began with the presentation of four manuals developed specifically for different departments within the Ministry of Justice. These manuals provide guidance and resources to improve the functioning and efficiency of each department, namely for the Legal Department, the Department for European Integration and Policy Coordination, the Department for Overseeing Free Legal Professions and the department for International Legal Cooperation.

In the second part, the workshop focused on practice of donor coordination. The workshop aimed to showcase the benefits of creating a platform for collaboration and joint efforts, ultimately leading to a more efficient, impactful, and unified approach to supporting a stronger and more effective justice system.

During the workshop the Latvian and Croatian experience and best practices in the process of donor coordination and EU integration were presented.

Finaly, the workshop was completed with the insight in experience from the accession process in Montenegro and Croatia, giving concrete examples and lessons learned. This offered valuable perspectives on the challenges and opportunities associated with aligning with EU standards and requirements, particularly in the context of justice system reforms.
